About Us

Our Mission

The Bernard Center for Women, Politics & Public Policy is a research and educational institution—a think tank— whose mission is to significantly increase public awareness and understanding of the realities of inequality based upon race, gender, ethnicity, religion, indigenous and migrant status, and sexual orientation and to promote and advance the eradication of the legal, structural and cultural barriers to achieving true equality.  The Bernard Center seeks to achieve these goals by changing the terms of the nation’s most critical domestic and foreign policy debates and challenging  the American public, policymakers, and the media to discuss these issues and promote, advance, and create meaningful and equitable change.  The Bernard Center’s scholars and analysts conduct high-quality, independent research, and based on that research and earned and paid media, provide and advance innovative, practical recommendations that advance these goals.
